New home for First Call for Help in Grand Rapids

First Call for Help finds new home and marks 50th anniversary

A look at the new home for First Call for Help in Grand Rapids, and how they can help even more people now.

First Call for Help has found a new, larger home, just down the road from their current spot off 4th Street.

It’s in a former car dealership, and they worked to redecorate this week ahead of Friday’s open house.

The non-profit supports people who are dealing with a variety of challenges, including mental health, homelessness, or even legal concerns. They also help veterans.

Cre Larson, their Executive Director, shared, “We took a leap of faith, called the realtors, and now we’re here.”

It gives them much more room, and they are launching something called the Crisis Reception Center Program, and it will be the first in the state.

First Call is also celebrating 50 years of serving their communities and people this year.

They plan to be fully operating in their new space by the end of the month.
