Kids attending the Duluth Edison Charter School “Raleigh Academy” are in for a fun start this next school year.

This is because of the $20,000 grant they recently received from the Minnesota department of education to create an outdoor playscape.

This space will provide natural, multi-sensory materials for their students to build, create, work together, increase their motor skills, grow and learn as they explore nature.

The Playscape will include a sensory path, mud kitchen, sand pit, challenge course, water play, music wall, tunnels, classroom meeting spaces, as well as future plans to include planting edible fruit plants.

Playscape will encourage and allow students to be outside playing, learning, and exploring as well as increase their social skills.
