No threat with suspicious object at Grand Casino Hinckley
The Pine County Sheriff’s Office says a suspicious object at Grand Casino Hinckley was deemed not a threat.
Around 8:30am Tuesday morning, the casino’s security team noticed something in a section of the property, calling Pine County law enforcement to investigate.
In an abundance of caution, the area was cleared of guests and associates and a thorough sweep was done on the rest of the casino property. The St. Paul Bomb Squad was called, arriving shortly after 11:00am. The bomb squad determined there was no threat, immediately disposing of the item. The scene was cleared around 11:30am.
Authorities identified and located a 37-year-old suspect, who was taken into custody near his residence without incident and was booked into the Pine County Jail with formal charges pending.
Law enforcement does not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public, and the scene has been declared safe.
