Nord Stern, the Porsche club of America, visits the Northland
Nord Stern is a Porsche club that’s been growing for the past half century. There are over 140 regions in the United States that have a Nord Stern organization, and one made its way to Duluth on Saturday Oct. 7th.
Jim Southwell, an active volunteer, said the Nord Stern region in the Minnesota has more than 700 members.
“Our region is based on the Twin Cities, but we do have members that live right here in Duluth,” Southwell said. “We draw people from all over the states. We get people from out of state come to some of our events too, especially our track events.”
Southwell said there’s about 40 members visiting Duluth this weekend at Pier B resort. They’re also having a pizza party at Clyde Iron Works, Saturday evening.
“We love to come up to Duluth. We love driving on the North Shore. We are going into Wisconsin today. So we’re spreading both ways. Good driving roads, a fun place to be, great scenery. That’s what we want to be out and about.”
The Nord Stern is welcoming all newcomers, the only requirement of course is to have a Porsche.
