Northland College provides update from Board of Trustees
The Northland College Board of Trustees had intended to provide a definitive update on the College’s future Tuesday; however, there they say there has been a positive development that changes the scope of the situation.
In an update from their Board of Trustees Tuesday night, they announced the college received several more donations from donors over the last 24 hours. While Northland is still short of its total funding needs, these gifts considerably impact what is possible. Because of the new funds, the Board of Trustees decided it would be best to reconvene with the Faculty Ad Hoc Exigency and Operations and Budget Committees to discuss their academic plan and adjust their proposed budget.
In a statement, Northland College said in part, “The Board recognizes that this creates continued uncertainty for our students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, and neighbors, and it is committed to advancing this work as quickly as possible with a decision shared by the end of next week. We thank the Northland community for their continued support and appreciate the positive work of our faculty and staff.”
