Northland Strong: Joe and Kathy Caulfield
Joe and Kathy Caulfield have quite the party planned for their 50th anniversary.
They are hosting an open house at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center in Virginia, Friday, July 28th, 3-7pm.
Along with a vow renewal moment, there will be music, food, and dancing.
Instead of gifts, they are hoping guests will support the UNICEF Relief Fund, to benefit Ukrainian refugee children and their mothers.
They’ve been watching the war in Ukraine unfold on the news, and want to support these people.
“This is something we feel called to do,” Joe said, who was a bit overcome with emotion.
Kathy added, “It’s because it’s part of our faith. We take care of our own, fellow men and women and children. We are so blessed to be parents, and grandparents, and great-grandparents. This is a way to give back.”
It was love at first sight for the two, who are originally from Illinois.
“It was a warm summer day in July,” Kathy remembered. They met at work, in the mental health field. “I saw his blue eyes, and I was sunk.
It was a whirlwind courtship. They got married the following July, and it was potluck style.
Work brought them to the Range, and they’ve never wanted to leave. They’re hoping their friends will come and support them at this upcoming event.
