Once again, it’s time for the fall rummage sale in Gary New Duluth
Gary New Duluth Recreation is hosting its fall rummage sale once again. It fills the inside of Gary New Duluth REC Center. The center is currently packed with items and donations given from the community all throughout the year.
Doors open for sale starting on Thursday, the 17th, at 4pm till 7pm. Then Friday, 18th, through Sunday, 20th, it will be going on from 8am to 1pm. The community is invited to check out the items brought in. The proceeds of previous sales helped fund the GND skate park just outside the rec center.
Kisty Haller, a member of the Gary New Duluth Developmental Alliance Board, shared the groups hopes and plans for the proceeds moving forward.
“For years we’ve been putting the proceeds of the sale towards the skateboard park, but now it is finished, and we are so happy. So, we’re just moving on to a new project on what we’ll put the money towards.” The next project they are directly supporting has yet to be announced.
The rummage sale does not put princes on most of their items sold, asking for people to “buy what you like, and we’ll take what you give.” They also have an offer bag sale, where you can fill a bag with as many items desired for a minimum of $7 dollars. Once again doors open at 4pm on Thursday, the 17th, and everyone is welcome and invited to the sale.
