One injured in early morning Lake County crash

At 5:01AM Saturday morning, the Minnesota State Patrol responded to a crash on State Highway 1 and County Highway 2, Stony River TWP, in Lake County.

A Toyota Rav4 was traveling northbound on County Highway 2 approaching State Highway 1 when the vehicle drove through the State Highway 1 intersection before crashing in the ditch. The vehicle took out an electrical junction box, which cut power to the surrounding area. The vehicle was engulfed in fire.

The 26-year-old driver was transported to Essentia Health-Duluth with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident is still currently under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
