One person dead, one injured in rollover in Superior
One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Superior at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. According to the Superior Police Department, first responders were called to the scene of a vehicle rollover crash in the area of Highway 105 and Logan Avenue.
When authorities arrived they found both occupants of the vehicle had been ejected. The police report says the 25-year-old driver from Superior was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The Superior Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Superior Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance responded to the accident. The passenger, identified as a 24-year-old man from Oliver, WI, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital.
Authorities say excessive speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. The identity of the driver will be released at a later date.
The accident is under investigation pending toxicology reports.
