One person killed in Bayfield Co. trailer fire

The Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office says a woman was killed in a fire Sunday afternoon.
911 was called around 4:00pm Sunday reporting a disturbance at a trailer residence on US Highway 2 in the Town of Keystone. A short while later, another caller reported that the residence was on fire.
Fire crews responded and once the flames were under control, it was discovered that a woman had died inside.
The Sheriff’s Office extends their condolences, saying, “this is a deeply heartbreaking situation, and our thoughts are with the family and loved ones affected by this loss.”
The fire remains under investigation by the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations-Fire Marshal’s Office.
