One person sent to hospital after downtown Duluth stabbing

The Duluth Police Department reports that a stabbing occurred in downtown Duluth Tuesday, April 8, at around 12:45 p.m. on the 100 block of E 3rd St.

As per Mattie Hjelseth, Public Information Officer for the Duluth Police Department, officers were originally dispatched to the scene for a report of male having chest pain. Once they arrived, located a man with a stab wound in his arm.

The male victim was transported to a local hospital. The victim was able to provide law enforcement with information that allowed them to locate a vehicle associated with the suspect. The vehicle has been towed in for evidence. A suspect has also been identified by law enforcement, but is not currently in custody

Hjelseth also stated that the suspect and victim were known to each other and that this remains an active and ongoing investigation.
