Sign up now for the dinner where you can meet the Minnesota Supreme Court

The Minnesota Supreme Court is heading to the Iron Range in a couple of weeks.

The Minnesota Supreme Court will be holding oral arguments on the Range in a couple of weeks.

And they will be at the Minnesota Supreme Court Community Dinner, which is Wednesday the 2nd at Fortune Bay.

“We encourage members of the community—especially parents and students—to join us for the community dinner,” Supreme Court Chief Justice Natalie Hudson added. “It’s a good way to get to know us in an informal setting, ask questions, and just enjoy each other’s company.”

Judge Bhupesh Pattni from the 6th Judicial District said he’s spoken with a few of the justices, and they are excited to come up here.

Dinner tickets cost $25, which covers the cost of the meal. Tickets can be purchased through noon on Monday, Sept. 23. Tickets will not be available at the door.

The community dinner is part of the Supreme Court’s Traveling Oral Arguments program, which teaches students about Minnesota’s judicial system.

The court will hear arguments in State of Minnesota v. Hames TrifIvan Contreras-Sanchez at Rock Ridge High School at 10 am on Thursday, Oct. 3. This is NOT open to the public, but you can watch it online. After oral arguments, justices will have lunch with student representatives and visit classrooms for one-on-one education sessions.
