P.I.G.S. motorcycle group rides through the northland to raise money for veterans
A local motorcycle charity or P.I.G.S are riding through Minnesota and Wisconsin to help veterans in need.
The name P.I.G.S. stands for public involvement group and their slogan, L.G.D. stands for let’s get donations.
The group has been hosting the ride for over a decade, this year was there 14th year.
P.I.G.S founder, Perry Raivala says over the years they have raised well over $100,000 for struggling veterans. He mentioned at one point, they bought a van so they could help transport vets who need help with transporting from the northland to the cities.
Raivala says they were expecting around 100 bikers to join their ride total today. He also told us it wouldn’t be possible without community help. “We often get recurring donations from a lot of mom and pops shops. They are so generous and we thank them for everything they’ve helped us accomplish.”
He says most of the members are not veterans themselves but still wanted a way to show their support and
