Park Point 5-Miler to impact traffic

The Park Point 5-Miler race is being run on Thursday, July 18 at 6:30 p.m. The annual race begins at Minnesota Avenue near Sky Harbor Airport in Duluth.

Minnesota Avenue between 23rd Street and the parking lots near the end of Park Point will be closed to traffic from 6:00 p.m. until approximately 9:00 p.m.

Drivers entering Park Point will be stopped at 23rd Street. Drivers already at the Park will be held there, beginning at 6 p.m. for approximately 90 minutes.

“Motorists going to or leaving Park Point during these times should anticipate this delay and plan accordingly,” explained Sgt. Jason Elkam with the Duluth Police Department. “Motorists should also be alert to runners in the roadway and officers directing traffic near 23rd Street and in the Park Point recreation area.”

The Park Point 5-Miler is a Young Athletes Foundation event.
