Pedestrian killed in Washburn accident

A 28-year-old man from Minneapolis was killed after being hit by a vehicle Sunday evening in Washburn County.
It happened on the Northbound side of US 63 at North County Road F near Minong.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, a 2021 Nissan hit the pedestrian who was standing in the road and wearing dark clothing. The driver of the Nissan was not hurt.
The incident is under investigation.
The State Patrol was assisted by the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office, Washburn County Coroner, Washburn County Highway Department, North Ambulance, and Fire Department.
