Police confirm lockdown at Fond du Lac Services Center
Fond du Lac Tribal Police are investigating an incident at the Mino-Aya-Win Human Services Center and Tagwii late this afternoon. Just after 4:00 p.m., WDIO News learned of a possible disturbance occuring near the clinic on the Fond du Lac Reservation, and at 4:15 p.m. Fond du Lac Police confirmed the clinic was on lockdown.
Authorities say there is no threat to the public.
An official statement from Fond du Lac Reservation officials says:
Earlier this afternoon, the Fond du Lac Human Services employees at Mino-Aya-Win and Tagwii were on locked down and staff was evacuated safely. Fond du Lac Police Department believes that there is NO direct threat to the community and to other Fond du Lac program and/or enterprises.
Out of abundance of caution and for the safety of our communities children and staff the Cloquet, Brookston, and Sawyer Community Centers will be closed until further notice. Parents and guardians are advised to pick up their children.
