Power restored for many across the Northland
Several Northlanders were reportedly without power on this frigid Tuesday morning. According to Minnesota Power, Superior, Water, Light and Power and Cooperative Light and Power websites, power was restored before 11 a.m.
Amy Rutledge with Minnesota Power says the outages in their coverage area occured around 4:30 a.m. The problem was due to a substation breaker failure due to extreme cold.
According to an update from Minnesota Power, additional lineworkers and resources were called in to assist and were able to restored power to 2,500 customers in the Barnum. Moose Lake and Sturgeon Lake area.
As of 10:50 a.m. Lake Country Power still showed there were two outages. One near Buck Lake off Minnesota Highway 65 and the other near Leech Lake off Minnesota Highway 200. Crews continue to work on the outage.

According to the Minnesota Power outage map as of 9:50 a.m., there are two active outages affecting 2,539 customers.
Lake Country Power is reporting 2 outages that are affecting 10 members.
Superior, Water, Light, and Power are reporting no outages at this time.
Cooperative Light and Power are also reporting no outages at this time.
