Public chimes in on MnDOT’s State Rail Plan

People gathered at the Depot to learn more about updates to the State Rail Plan and give feedback to the Minnesota Department of Transportation on Tuesday December 3rd.

At this meeting, people in charge of the project were looking to help people understand the current state of the project and give them a chance to voice any thoughts or concerns.

“We are looking to help people put the pieces together and sort of see the vision,” said Robert Clarkson the lead project manager for the State Rail Plan. “If there’s any particular bits of feedback that somebody has, they’re able to share those thoughts with us.”

A big question for the project at this point is destinations, timing, and what the priorities are of the Minnesotans who want to use the State Rail.

“We want to hear about prioritization of investment,” said Adam Fulton passenger rail planning coordinator with Minnesota Department of Transportation. “That’s really what we’re doing in the planning process. We’re figuring out how the priorities of Minnesotans align with things that are happening in other places.”
