Red Lake Man sentenced to 83 months for Sexual Abuse of a Minor

A Red Lake man has been sentenced to 83 months (nearly seven years) in prison followed by an additional seven years of supervised release for sexually abusing a minor on the Red Lake Indian Reservation according to U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger.

Authorities say 63-year-old Ronald Royce Pearson was visiting a residence on the Red Lake Indian Reservation on August 27, 2022. According to court documents, Pearson engaged in a sexual act with a minor.

Pearson pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to one count of sexual abuse of a minor in September, 2023. He was sentenced on February 28th by Judge Nancy E. Brasel.

This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI, the Red Lake Police Department, and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
