List: Red Lobster reportedly is closing nearly 50 restaurants in the U.S.

Red Lobster says it is closing nearly 50 of its restaurants in the U.S. The locations span across more than 20 states — cutting back on Red Lobster’s presence in cities like Denver, San Antonio, Indianapolis and Sacramento. Red Lobster has been struggling for some time. With lease and labor costs piling up in recent years, the chain is now reportedly considering filing for bankruptcy.

As of May 14, there are no restaurants closing in Minnesota. WDIO reached out to the Duluth restaurant when news broke about the possible closures and bankruptcy and were told that the Duluth location would be “operating under normal business hours.” When asked about the plan for the foreseeable future, regional Red Lobster representative Lori Cherry told WDIO, “I do not have any additional information.”

According to the list, there are two locations in Wisconsin, Wauwatosa and La Crosse that will close and one in Fort Gratiot, Michigan.
