Rep. Liish Kozlowski running for re-election
The campaign season is in full swing, with another announcement about a Northland lawmaker.
Friday morning, Rep. Liish Kozlowski announced they are running for re-election for the House 8B spot.
“It’s been an honor to represent the people of 8B and I’m thrilled to announce my run for reelection to the Minnesota House of Representatives,” said Kozlowski. “I’m proud of the work that eastern Duluth sent me to do and remain committed to being a responsive leader, showing up alongside the people of our district, to fight for everything that matters to you.”
Kozlowski entered their first term holding leadership positions, being elected as Vice Chair of the House POCI Caucus – a powerful bloc of Black, Brown, and Indigenous members – and became the first Trans non-binary person to ever serve in the state legislature.
Their campaign says they have endorsements with labor unions including the MNA, MAPE, Women Winning, Planned Parenthood, and the LGBTQ Victory Fund.
Kozlowski encourages every Duluth resident to attend DFL precinct caucuses at 7 p.m. on Tuesday,
February 27 at Myers-Wilkins Elementary and East High School.
Kozlowski holds degrees from the University of Minnesota Duluth and The College of St. Scholastica (MBA).
They began their career in business development, higher education, grassroots organizing, and local
government. They’ve lived in the Park neighborhood for nearly ten years with their four cats.
