UPDATE: US 2/WIS 13 in Ashland reopened

WisDOT has reopened US Highway 2 from Sanborn Avenue to WIS-13 Northbound. Both directions are clear after weather conditions made the roadway dangerous for travel.

At approximately 7:30 this morning, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the State Patrol declared US 2/WIS 13 as impassable and closed the portion on the Chequamegon Bayfront between Sanborn Avenue and WIS 13 North in the city of Ashland due to extreme weather conditions.
