Blood became the focus of the lessons today for students in science at Rock Ridge.
That’s because Essentia Health brought some of their lab folks over to explain what their roles are.
From urinalysis to blood typing, they explained some of the basics of the work that can be vital to our health care.
Students enjoyed seeing what is possible.
“It was pretty cool,” Steven Ranisate told us. He’s a junior, who hadn’t considered this kind of work until this experience. “Looking at things under the microscope and stuff, was interesting.”
Essentia has come over before, but this was the first time they had the lab group with their stations.
“They were excited to bring that group here. And they have much more room now in our new school,” said Tim Strasser, one of the science teachers.
Betty Parker, another science teacher, added, “We are trying to expose these kids to the careers, and talk about the education that some of the programs might need.”
