Austin Jarrow is turning 40 or 10, depending on how you look at it.

The running store opened on Feb. 29, 1984, giving it a Leap Day anniversary. Back then, it was in the Holiday Center downtown. Now, they’re on their 11th location at the Stone Ridge Shopping Center.

“Now we have the children and grandchildren of our original customers coming in, passing on the legacy,” Jarrow Wahman said.

They’ve also had more than 180 employees in that time, one of whom has been there 37 years.

To celebrate all the miles put on running shoes bought at Austin Jarrow, the whole store will be 29% off on Thursday, Feb. 29. They’ll be open from 10-6.
