Sabrina Ullman: Warmer with a wintry mix this weekend
It’s nice to know that we are heading into a warmer weekend after experiencing horrible cold the last 24 hours. We will be looking at the clouds increasing tonight but temperatures will be rising too. Southerly winds not only bring in warmer temperatures, but it will also lead to some snowfall. A Winter Weather Advisory in in place starting tomorrow morning.
Snowfall is most likely Saturday late morning and into the afternoon hours. From Saturday evening and throughout Sunday, freezing drizzle is expected to create less than one tenth of an inch of ice on untreated surfaces. The best chances for the highest amount of ice accumulations Saturday night into Sunday morning will be in the higher terrain of the North Shore and on top of the hill in the immediate Duluth metro region. More of wintry mix spills into Monday with another shot of light snow reappearing by the middle of next week.
