Sacred Heart Music Center’s open house gathers local businesses
The Sacred Heart Music Center is over a century old, but continues to be an important historical landmark in Duluth. The cathedral is now a remarkable event venue for all sorts of music events in the Twin Ports community.
Jule Hand is the Special Event Manager and Board Chair with Sacred Heart Music Center. She said it’s a non-profit that kind of specializes in music concerts for the community. However, they provide more than a venue for local music acts.
“This space is also open for the public to use for weddings and special events of all sorts,” Hand said. “Today we’re having our spring open house just to kind of showcase how the space can look if you’re interested in coming in and hosting something.”
Hand also said several of the vendors ranged from caterers like Bellisio’s and Black woods to other event planners.
“We have a lot of great vendor partners that we work with. We actually have an event resource guide from lighting, DJs, to décor and linen,” Hand said. “But we don’t specialize in everything ourselves. So that’s why we need to have our vendor partners.”
If folks weren’t able to check out the spring open house, Hand said they can reach out to Sacred Heart Music Center to schedule a future event.
“We have a concert coming up on April 12th. We have probably five monthly concerts that come through here,” Hand said. “The events can be hosted any day of the week. I think it’s just a hidden gem and we are trying to get it more out into the open that it is available for people to use. And we want to open it up to the community because that’s what it’s for.”
