Safe Haven and AICHO team up for Domestic Violence Awareness Month event
Safe Haven Shelter & Resource Center and AICHO hosted an event to mark Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Folks stood at the steps of city hall in Duluth to raise awareness and promote community support against domestic violence.
Mayors Emily Larson and Jim Paine both proclaimed it Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the Twin Ports.
Safe Haven Shelter & Resource Center is a leading organization in Duluth, Minnesota, dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence and providing essential resources to help individuals and families rebuild their lives.
Executive Director Brittany Robb shared, “Our shelter program serves about 550 survivors every year. And then our Resource Center serves an additional 1500.”
She told us although numbers are going up, it shows that people are finding the services they need.
The American Indian Community Housing Organization (AICHO) is a non-profit organization based in Duluth, Minnesota, committed to advancing the housing needs of indigenous communities and addressing issues such as domestic violence within these communities.
