Sand and bags available for Pine County residents

As flood waters rise in Pine County, residents can help protect their property by filling bags of sand. According to the Pine County Sheriff’s Office, sandbags and sand will be available at the Highway garages in Pine City, Sandstone and Willow River. The bags and sand will be available this afternoon through Friday evening.

Officials say residents should bring their own shovel. Youo will be responsible for filling and moving your bags. The Pine County Sheriff’s office asks for volunteers to help.

According to a post on the Pine County Sheriff’s Facebook page, sandbags and sand will be available at:

• Pine City – 405 Airport Road NE
• Sandstone – 1610 Hwy 23 N (The sand pile is back by the gas island. Look for cones.)
• Willow River – 8165 County Hwy 61 (The sand pile is on the north side of the building and is marked by cones.)
