Sexual assault charges dropped against teacher

St. Louis County prosecutors have dismissed charges against an elementary teacher at Duluth Charter school’s Raleigh Edison Academy. According to a court document dated March 26, the charges against John Horgeshimer have been dropped.

Stated in the document:

The State of Minnesota, prosecuting authority herein, hereby dismisses the Complaint in the above-entitled matter without prejudice in the interest of justice.

The Defendant is not in custody.

A review of new evidence has brought the matter below our charging standard. A dismissal is in the interest of justice.

As of Tuesday, Horgeshimer was still on administrative leave from the school.
