Wright/Gagne Golf Scramble supports youth curling

Teams golfing in the Wright/Gagne golf event at Grand View supports youth curling in the Twin Ports.

Back in 1965, the world champions in curling were from the Northland.

Now, the 5th annual Wright/Gagne charity golf scramble is coming up. It’s a fundraiser for youth curling.

Karen Brandt is the organizer. Her step-father, Tom Wright, was on the team.

“I do this to honor his curling acumen and passion,” she explained. “And we can promote youth curling in the Twin Ports.”

Money goes to safety gear and high performance equipment.

Chris Klatte, the owner of Grand View, is proud to host this event each year. “It’s great to give back to the community. Fall is a great time to play golf, and the course is in great shape.”

The scramble is Saturday, September 7th, at Grand View Golf Links. Shotgun start at 2pm. Cost is $60. Grand View is 9 holes.
