Single vehicle hit powerline pole in Duluth, intersection lights out

UPDATE: St. Louis County has said that drivers can expect traffic backups until the problem is fixed, which they say could take at least through the end of the week. It recommends that drivers look for alternative routes.

The Duluth Police Department confirms that a single vehicle crashed into a powerline pole at the intersection of Arrowhead and Haines Road Monday afternoon. The vehicle took out power of the intersection’s control lights and law enforcement arrived on scene around 3:00 p.m. to help control traffic.

Law enforcement has also confirmed that the driver of the vehicle in uninjured.

The intersection lights will remain out until they restored by Minnesota Power.
