Snowmobile rollover on Wild Rice Lake Reservoir

Authorities say a 79-year-old man flipped his snowmobile on Wild Rice Lake Reservoir in Rice Lake.
It happened just before 4:15pm Thursday afternoon. Emergency crews responded to find the man still conscious and breathing, but he was not wearing a helmet.
The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is reminding snowmobile riders to use caution and always wear a helmet.
Crews from the Sheriff’s Office, Rice Lake Fire Department, the St. Louis County Rescue Squad, the Minnesota DNR, and Mayo Ambulance responded.
