Some entry points in the BWCA closed due to storm damage
The U.S. Forest Service-Superior National Forest says some of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) entry points are closed due to recent storms. According to a post on the U.S. Forest Service-Superior National Forest Facebook page, the entry points are closed due to washouts. See list below.
The Forest Service also advises campers and canoeists to be aware of very high and swift moving waters on lakes and rivers within the BWCA and reminds us to always where a lifejacket. They say portage landings may be flooded. Trails may be muddy and damaged, as well as trees down. They advise all to consider the skills and abilities of the entire group when planning travel routes. If your route becomes questionable, turn around.

- Trout Lake #1 Day Use and Overnight Motor (motorized portage is not passable; paddle permits can still be issued)
