Some minor injuries after Ashland school bus crash

The School District of Ashland says a school bus was involved in an accident on Monday at 8:03 a.m. The district says emergency personnel responded and everyone is safe, although some of the passengers had minor injuries. The injured were taken to Tamarack Health Medical Center for evaluation.

No details yet on how or where specifically the accident occurred, just that it happened within the City of Ashland.

Officials at the school says it was the #3 Lakeshore Bus Company bus heading to Lake Superior Elementary School. The school contacted the parents and guardians of the children affected.

Students were reportedly taken to the school to either continue with class or be picked up by a parent or guardian.

In a letter sent out to parents, the district thanked Lakeshore Bus Company and emergency personnel for “their quick and excellent response to this situation.”

WDIO has reached out to Ashland Police Department for further details but have not heard back yet.
