Spooner woman dies in UTV crash

A Spooner woman died in a rollover UTV crash Saturday night in Burnett County.
The Sheriff’s Office responded at 11:45 p.m. to Shrider Road in Lafollete Township. They found two people trapped under a UTV.
Authorities say the woman passenger was wearing her seatbelt, and the man who was driving was not.
Despite lifesaving measures, Jennifer Kopinski (52) was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was a 56-year-old man also from Spooner. He was arrested for negligent manslaughter.
The Sheriff says alcohol is believed to be a factor in a crash.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is investigating.
Additionally, the Wisconsin State Patrol, St. Croix Hertel Fire and First Responders, North Ambulance and the Burnett County Medical Examiner’s Office responded.
