Dubh Linn’s Irish Brew Pub in Duluth hosted a family-friendly event on Friday to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Production staff started work at 9 am to prepare for festivities that began at 11 am.
“I love seeing people smile and having a good time because I like to just treat people how I’d want to be treated, and that’s always how I’ve grown up and I think a lot of our staff is built that same way,” said bartender Dave Roden. “For me, I’ve been doing this for 12 years and it’s like a second family for me, so we want everyone to feel part of our family on a day like today.”
The pub offered live music, Irish folk dancing, and special menu items.
“We brought back our corned beef and cabbage. It’s been asked about for a while. Just couldn’t get it for a while. So we got that back on the menu as well as a shepherd’s pie and a bunch of other Irish favorites such as the Reuben,” said Roden. “We made around 400 pounds of corn, beef, and cabbage as well as mashed potatoes. We also have a non-alcoholic Guinness that actually tastes a lot like Guinness.”
