St. Scholastica celebrates the start of construction on their new student center

St. Scholastica students will get to enjoy a new student center in the fall of 2024.

The school celebrated the groundbreaking for the project on Friday afternoon.

President Dr. Barbara McDonald said, “We’re here to celebrate all who have contributed to this momentous occasion. The Student Center Project is the last in a series of planned facilities and upgrades and building projects that were part of the 2002 facilities plan.”

Sophomore Emma Mischke is the student representative on the Board of Trustees. She told the crowd, “A student center like the one we have planned will make an impact on generations of Saints to come. And I’m ecstatic when thinking about the opportunities this building is going to provide for students to foster the community and hospitality that specifically characterizes this beautiful institution. I cannot wait to have a contemporary place in which students can congregate and collaborate.”
