Storm damage on Minnesota State Fairgrounds

The Minnesota State Fair’s opening was delayed Tuesday after severe storms rolled through the metro.

Gates opened at 9 a.m. allowed crews time to cleanup debris and assess for damage. The grounds typically open at 7 a.m. The opening time for vendors and attractions varied.

The Mighty Midway opened back up at 10:30 a.m. The Kidway and Adventure Park opened back up around 10 a.m.

The free state entertainment continued as schedule with the exception of the Veteran’s Garden Ceremony, which was reschedule from 9:15 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Storms late Monday evening canceled the Grandstand Concert and closed the Midway rides.
