Structure fire reported in Carlton County

The Carlton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a barn on fire Tuesday evening. Upon arrival, fire department personnel found the pole shed was fully engulfed with flames. Deputies responded and learned from the property owner that a tractor and recreational vehicle were also inside the pole building along with hay for animals. No injuries were reported from the fire and the homeowner removed the animals and none were injured.

The Cromwell and Wright Fire Department, Kettle River Fire Department, Mahtowa Fire Department, Carlton Fire Department, Esko Fire Department, Wrenshall Fire Department, Fond Du Lac Police Department and Carlton County Sheriff’s Office responded and assisted with the structure fire.

The cause of the fire is not considered suspicious given the facts of the initial investigation.
