Students at Hibbing High School evacuated due to alleged bomb threat
On Friday morning, Hibbing Police received information about a possible bomb threat at the Hibbing High School. Superintendent Richard Aldrich told WDIO News that the tip came in before school started, and staff immediately began working with the Hibbing Police Department to remove students from the building.
School staff notified parents and organized busing of students to another location.
The district said the threat was specific to the high school and other buildings are operating without disruption. School was canceled for High School students Friday.
School officials say the Duluth Police Bomb Team was called to help assist with the search and clear the building. After a thorough search by K9 Kallie and officers, authorities determined there wasn’t a threat.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Duluth Police Department and Hibbing Fire Department assisted in this search.
