Students from across the region compete at Math Masters

About 120 kids from area schools put their math skills to the test in Duluth at Math Masters on Thursday.

About 120 4th and 6th graders from area schools gathered at the Coppertop Church in Duluth Thursday, ready to compete in math!

Math Masters gives them a chance to test their skills individually and as a team. It began as a fifth-grade math competition program in 1989, with teams from 44 schools taking part.

In 1995 the competition was expanded to include 6th grade, and in 2022, 4th grade was added.

Awards are given out at the end, in the form of medals and plaques.
