Super One shoppers round up for Habitat for Humanity
Thanks to rounding up, Super One raised $23,853.16 for the Western Lake Superior Habitat for Humanity over just 3 weeks in March.
Customers from Duluth, Cloquet, and Two Harbors made just over 30,000 individual donations. The funds given to western Lake Superior Habitat for Humanity for new homes.
“This campaign went about three weeks throughout the month of March,” said Susie Marshall Digital Marketing Manager for Miners inc. “It’s always incredible to see just how many customers round up their donation or contribute those one three or five dollars that checkout. There are just over 30,000 individual donations that helped raise that $23,000.”
Those donations are going to help build new homes for people who need them.
“My real hope is that we’re going to have a brand-new home for someone that realistically probably couldn’t afford it otherwise,” said Darren Schmitt Western Lake Superior Habitat for Humanity Executive Director. “With the markets and interests where it is today, it’s tough for even regular working folks to have a chance to buy their own home.”
The new home will be out in the Smithville neighborhood, near Morgan Park.
Super one’s next round-up campaign will be for animal allies for national pet month.
