Superior natural gas line repaired after construction crews hit it

The Superior Fire Department says a natural gas line in the area of N 28th Street and Banks Avenue has been repaired. Construction crews there reportedly hit it Tuesday afternoon.

Closed roads are expected to reopen Wednesday once they’ve been repaired too.

Firefighters and employees of Superior Water, Light & Power monitored it for fire or exposure hazards and to make sure no evacuations were needed.

The public was asked to stay away from the area while crews resolved the problem.

Late Tuesday night, the fire department asked that people not drive on the road until it is fixed and open.
