Superior’s first bike, ski and outdoor recreation shop holds grand opening
A major gap in the outdoor activities market was filled on Saturday November 23rd as the doors opened at Outdoor North, Superior’s first bike, ski and outdoor recreation shop.
Outdoor North started as a suggestion from Superior’s Mayor Jim Payne to now Owner Jeff Dorfman.
“I was talking to the mayor about developing a different building. And he said, ‘You know what we really need is a bike shop in this town,'” said Dorfman. “So that’s really how it started. We just decided, let’s do a bike, ski, and clothing store. And something superior really needed, a boutique.”
Their aim is to have gear to accommodate outdoorsman of all skill levels, and make sure everyone feels welcome.
“Yeah, we have a little bit for everyone from beginner to expert,” said Ski Specialist Erik Howard. “We’re really trying to foster an inclusive community that is open to everyone. Frome people who are just getting started to those that have been skiing their whole life.”
Aside from being a retail location they also offer a full-service shop for tune ups, new tires, ski sharpening and waxing and more.
Outdoor North located at 1314 Ogden Ave. in downtown Superior and is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
