Suspect arrested for Douglas County armed burglary

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reports that a suspect has been arrested in relation to an armed burglary incident that occurred on Sunday, April 6 around 2:10 p.m. on the 2600 Block of State Highway 105 in Wisconsin.

The Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies were advised that a homeowner went into their house and was confronted by an unknown male who pointed a shotgun at him. The owner then left the scene and parked down the road to wait for law enforcement. Upon arrival deputies confirmed with the homeowner that the armed suspect was in the home and that the shotgun was his. He also advised that the suspect would also have access to a handgun and rifle.

Law enforcement then set up a perimeter and the the Douglas County Special Response Team was called to the scene.

“Upon arrival of the SRT, out buildings and a vehicle were cleared,” explained a release from the Sheriff’s Office. “The suspect was called out of the house via loud speaker, but these calls were ignored. Gas was introduced into the residence and the suspect presented himself at the main entrance to the residence with his hands up and out the previously broken window of the door.”

The suspect then climbed through a window and was taken into custody. There were no injuries reported.
