Suspect in 2022 attempted murder case found guilty

On June 17th, 2024, a jury found Gary Duane Egolf Jensen, 56, guilty of two counts of Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree, four counts of Assault in the 2nd Degree, and one count of Domestic Assault.

According to court records, on December 19, 2022, Mr. Jensen’s ex-fiancé arrived at his house with three people to remove her personal items.

After an altercation with one of the people, Mr. Jensen brandished a handgun and pointed it at the individual’s head. He then pointed it at the rear tire of one of the trucks and fired a shot, causing the tire to go flat.

Mr. Jensen’s ex-fiancé and the other individuals got into two trucks and began to drive away while Mr.
Jensen continued to fire shots, striking one of the trucks multiple times and shattering its rear window.

At the scene, ten .40 caliber cartridge casings were located.

“The jury’s verdict not only holds Mr. Jensen accountable but also sends the message that gun violence will not be tolerated in our communities,” County Attorney Kim Maki said.
