Team Duluth Annual Ski and Snowboard Swap returns for 53rd year

The Annual Team Duluth Ski and Snowboard Swap returned to Spirit Mountain Wednesday, October 23, for its first night of gear drops-offs. The 53rd annual event allows used equipment to be donated, resold or purchased at the swap with a portion of the commission being donated to Team Duluth to help fund their upcoming season.

“Proceeds from the Ski and Snowboard SWAP go towards Team Duluth Ski and Snowboard Club operating budget, coaching salaries, team expenses, and hill fees,” explained Team Duluth President Katie Hughes. “The 53rd Ski and Snowboard Swap is the area’s largest of its type, drawing in visitors from all over the upper Midwest and Canada. As a non-profit, this is our largest fundraiser and without the community’s support and the collaboration of Spirit Mountain; this event would not have ever become the success that it has for the past 53 years.”

Drop offs will continue on Thursday, October 24, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The gear shop will then be open at the following times:

• Friday, October 25 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday, October 26: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Sunday, October 27, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Gear Pick Up, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.)

Team Duluth notes that all equipment that is not purchased must be picked up by 2:00 pm on Sunday, and that equipment that is left will be either donated or recycled.

All gear swap events will take place at the Spirit Mountain Lower Grand Ave Chalet located at 8551 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN.
