Team members from maurices spend the day making a difference in Duluth
Difference Making meant a day out of the office for about 100 maurices associates on Wednesday. They focused on helping over a dozen nonprofits, schools, or foundations.
WDIO caught up with the group at the Damiano Center. There, they were sorting and organizing the mountains of bags of donations that people have brought in.
This was in the storage area on the upper floor of the Damiano, which is where CHUM is going to operate a temporary homeless shelter.
The team was making good progress in a very large room. After all, they are good with clothing!
Tara Gallagher, Merchandise Coordinator, shared, “It’s such an amazing day. We have so many staff that divide and conquer throughout the whole city and work on projects. It’s an opportunity for them to be able to see where there are needs.”
This is an annual tradition for maurices.
Other groups they helped included: Community Action Duluth, Boys and Girls Club, Northwoods Children’s Home, Second Harvest Northland, PAVSA, Essentia Foundation, St. Luke’s Foundation, St. Scholastica, Ecolibrium3, Duluth Schools, the American Red Cross, and Northland Adaptive Recreation.
