Teen dies after months long battle following car crash

Matthew Goggleye, 18 of Nett Lake, has passed away following a November car accident according to a GoFundMe update from his family.

In November 2023, it was reported that the vehicle was traveling westbound on Nett Lake Road located southwest of Orr, and had gone off the road, flipped and struck a tree.  

Upon arrival first responders determined the vehicle was occupied by Goggleye and Travon Raymond Boshey, 17. Boshey, of Tower, was pronounced dead on scene.

“Matthew passed away early on July seventh after a six month recovery journey from a car accident in November, that unfortunately took the life of his friend Trevon,” said Matthew’s aunt Crystal Googleye on GoFundMe. “May they fly high together.”

A funeral was held July 11 for Goggleye.
