Teen injured in rollover accident in Mt. Iron

A 16-year-old was injured in a one vehicle accident in Mt. Iron on Friday. Authorities were called to the 8900 block of Maxwell Road at 3:40 PM on Friday to a report of an accident in Mt. Iron.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office the driver lost control of the vehicle and overturned in the ditch against some trees. The 16-year-old needed to be extricated from the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital in Virginia with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office said the road was snow packed and slippery at the time of the crash. They remind drivers to be extra careful now that we are in the snowy season. Use caution, slow down and be aware of slippery conditions.
